I Love A Clean San Diego Cleanup Event

Join ILACSD as we team up with the County of San Diego and the Lakeside River Park Conservancy for a litter cleanup at “The Cathedral” area of Los Coches Creek in Lakeside! We will be performing a litter cleanup around the surrounding neighborhoods to divert waste from the San Diego watershed and maintain a lovely Lakeside!

We will have cleanup supplies, snacks, and water. We also provide community service hours and Letters of Appreciation for volunteers. This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn ways to protect our local environment!

We encourage volunteers to bring their own reusable items such as water bottles, work gloves, and buckets to promote zero waste practices and help us in our mission to have a zero waste, litter free and environmentally engaged San Diego region!

All volunteers are required to fill out a waiver form to participate and anyone under the age of 18 needs a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.

We hope to see you there!

Rain Barrel Sales Event @ Fallbrook Public Utility District in Fallbrook
Apr 15 @ 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Solana Center for Environmental Innovation and the County of San Diego have teamed up to offer discounted rain barrels to encourage rainwater harvesting. Don’t miss this opportunity to pay $55 per rain barrel (after rebate) on up to 2 rain barrels per household. By using rain barrels, San Diegans will conserve water, reduce runoff pollution and save money on their water bill when reusing rainwater for their gardens and landscapes.

The Rainwater − Catch it San Diego program offers 50 gallon “Ivy” discounted rain barrels for purchase at http://rainbarrelprogram.org/SD by credit card. The normal retail price is $129 but through this program they are only $90. Homeowners may also be eligible for a rebate of $35 each on residential rain barrels for up to 2 rain barrels per household, which could bring the cost down to $55 per rain barrel. More details on rebates and eligibility requirements are available at http://socalwatersmart.com/.
