Solana Center for Environmental Innovation and the County of San Diego have teamed up to offer discounted rain barrels to encourage rainwater harvesting. Don’t miss this opportunity to pay $55 per rain barrel (after rebate) on up to 2 rain barrels per household. By using rain barrels, San Diegans will conserve water, reduce runoff pollution and save money on their water bill when reusing rainwater for their gardens and landscapes.

The Rainwater − Catch it San Diego program offers 50 gallon “Ivy” discounted rain barrels for purchase at http://rainbarrelprogram.org/SD by credit card. The normal retail price is $129 but through this program they are only $90. Homeowners may also be eligible for a rebate of $35 each on residential rain barrels for up to 2 rain barrels per household, which could bring the cost down to $55 per rain barrel. More details on rebates and eligibility requirements are available at http://socalwatersmart.com/.
