Founded by a surfing sisterhood in 2016, Changing Tides Foundation is a women-led growing community of diverse collaborators with a passion for solving global challenges and creating change. Changing Tides Foundation calls in men and women alike and engages us to use our voices to advocate for the planet and all of its inhabitants.
Groundswell Community Project
Groundswell Community Project is a sisterhood of intersectional women holding safe and brave space for individuals and communities to find their healing, power and belonging in Mother Ocean’s waves. With their home roots in San Diego and branches that extend across the globe, they strive to break down barriers and build up communities that celebrate mental health, women’s health, and ocean health.
Kindhumans was created to celebrate the good in humanity by elevating community, commerce, and world-changing causes. Their goal? Set a good example for their children by fostering a community of kindness, making it easy for everyone to consume responsibly, and always giving back.
I Love A Clean San Diego
I Love A Clean San Diego (ILACSD) leads and inspires their community to actively conserve and enhance the environment through example, outreach, and local involvement. Their vision is for a zero waste, litter-free, and environmentally engaged San Diego region.
Un Mar De Colores
Un Mar De Colores believes the ocean has the power to connect us all. Surfing reminds us of our relationship to nature and each other by opening our eyes to our place and role in our ecosystem. Their organization centers around the ocean and their diverse community; initiating conversations around intersectional environmentalism and modeling a connected future.
San Diego Coastkeeper
San Diego Coastkeeper’s team of advocates, educators, scientists, and community engagement specialists work in tandem to address myriad water challenges across San Diego County. As part of the voice for San Diego’s rivers, streams, and coastline, they fight to protect and restore our waterways for the communities and wildlife that depend on them.
The Rob Machado Foundation
The Rob Machado Foundation was founded upon the fundamental belief that our planet needs to be taken care of, and there’s no better place to start than with our local communities and our children. Their water filling station program helps deliver clean, filtered water while encouraging reusable containers across a growing network of schools and public places. In addition, they offer trash and recycling solutions at beaches, schools, surf events and local beach clean ups.
The Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network. The San Diego County Chapter is part of Surfrider’s irreplaceable national network of grassroots activists.
San Diego Sport Innovators
Today, San Diego Sport Innovators mission is to establish San Diego (and Southern California) as the core of the healthy living, sports and active lifestyle community. Through supporting companies at all stages, we help create jobs, but not just any jobs, jobs that make our city and our residents, and ultimately our nation, a healthier, happier place to be.
WILDCOAST is an international team that conserves coastal and marine ecosystems and addresses climate change through natural solutions. They work to conserve some of the world’s most significant coastal and marine ecosystems in the USA and in Mexico by establishing and managing protected areas, advancing strong conservation policies, and engaging communities in the protection and stewardship of healthy, thriving oceans, coastlines and wildlife.
Native Like Water
Native Like Water prepares Indigenous youth and adults in science, outdoor education, conservation, wellness, and cultural self-exploration. Youth and young adults are provided the opportunity to think, perform and interact on local, national, and international grounds.
