March 22 is World Water Day!

It’s World Water Day! A day that reminds us the importance of, and to advocate for, the sustainable management of freshwater resources.

Today is also a very special day for us. Project Clean Water launched on World Water Day 2021!

Our goal since the beginning has been to raise awareness and spread knowledge about stormwater pollution, and to engage San Diegans in pollution-reducing behaviors.

Since our launch, we have:

  • Successfully completed the first year of our 52 Ways to Love Your Water campaign—with our second year currently underway
  • Launched our Youth for Clean Water microgrant program that provides microgrants to student-led teams that use science and/or engineering to address water quality in their local watershed
  • Received an Achievement Award in May 2022 from the National Association of Counties in their Civic Education & Public Information category
  • Launched the Dude! Be Cool. Don’t Dump. illegal dumping education campaign in partnership with I Love a Clean San Diego

We thank you all for your support throughout the last couple of years and look forward to more opportunities to partner and educate the County in the years to come.
